Meet our therapists

Roger Pollock, MSW, LICSW

My mission is to genuinely share myself with others so that we can reach higher levels of understanding and experience acceptance, commitment, and hope. We are doing the best we can, with what we have, in this moment and we can do better, being more motivated to change. With a dialectical perspective, drawing from the principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I focus on helping my clients achieve their goals and create a life worth living.

In my work, I connect with adolescents, families, and young adults, offering a radically genuine relationship that helps them discover that hope and recovery are possible. With specialized training in treatments for complex trauma, emotional dysregulation, impulsiveness, and life threatening behaviors, I provide psychotherapy targeting a range of clinical problems. My clinical practice utilizes evidence-based psychological treatments for trauma, such as DBT, Prolonged Exposure, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Additionally, I integrate expressive processing treatments such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Psychodrama, and Expressive Arts Therapy to address attachment and identity.

With a dialectical perspective and a commitment to fostering acceptance, I believe in creating a safe and inclusive environment for individuals from all backgrounds. Embracing diversity and respecting the unique experiences of each client is at the core of my practice. I welcome individuals of all gender and sexual identities, including those from the LGBTQ+ community. I strive to provide a supportive and affirming space where every client feels respected, validated, and understood. Together, we will work towards your personal growth, healing, and the achievement of your therapeutic goals."

Previously a public school teacher, I attended the University of Northern Iowa to study trauma-informed clinical social work with a mission to prevent children and families from “falling through the cracks.” Over the last six years, I have become a supervising clinician of a psychiatric medical institute for children, the founding clinician of an adherent outpatient multi-family DBT clinic, and an active consultant and trainer for treatment programs, public schools, colleges, state/federal agencies, and law enforcement. I provide expertise on topics including pediatric mental health, adolescent suicide, treatment of severe mental illness, school-based interventions, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
