I am a licensed psychologist with experience providing individual, group, and couples therapy.

My goal as a psychologist is to offer the support and validation you need to start working on change to overcome what is causing you distress as we all need to feel heard and understood before we are ready to start taking steps toward life-long change. To do this, I work from an interpersonal lens while also conceptualizing from a multicultural and feminist approaches. What this means is that I focus on offering support and challenges from our interactions while looking at the whole picture and observing what societal messages may need to be overcome or promoting your empowerment. When needed, I will also incorporate CBT, DBT, or other related approaches for skill development or to challenge negative distortions. I also will incorporate bibliotherapy when appropriate (e.g., books).

I identify as a generalist clinician so I enjoy working with a variety of presenting concerns; however, I do have special interests in working with university students, comorbid chronic pain and mental health concerns, grief and loss, issues faced by individuals who identify as racially/culturally diverse or LGBTQ, life adjustments, trauma, and relationship concerns including sexuality.

Prior to working at Twin Cities Psychological Services, I held clinical positions in  university counseling, community mental health, and intensive outpatient settings. I also held leadership positions for therapist training, offered clinical supervision, adjunct taught psychology and education courses, and am published in peer-reviewed journals.

I earned a doctorate (PhD) in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a MA in Counseling from the University of North Dakota, and a BS in Psychology from North Dakota State University.
