Meet our therapists
Karli Dahl, MSW, LICSW
Welcome! You did the thing! You’re looking for therapists! It’s a big deal to make this step in your journey- especially if you’ve been struggling in the recent past. Whether you’ve had therapy before or are just getting started, I am happy to help. I am honored (and trained!) to support those who are navigating disordered eating, traumatic stress, anxiety and/or mood disorders, and perinatal mental health. With me as your therapist, you can expect a challenging but ultimately rewarding mix of practical tools, awareness-building, hard work, humor and lots of human connection. All are welcome around here, though I tend to see women and queer folks between ages 18 - 50.
I approach therapy with roots in holistic mental health, feminist and relational therapies, as well as attachment and trauma theories. My time with clients prioritizes their identified needs, goals, and strengths; focuses on collaboration to take next steps toward growth, change, and acceptance; and bolsters the mind-body connection along with a sense of community. It is my belief that storytelling, meaning making, and mindful awareness enhance personal reflection and growth. In sessions, I emphasize our shared humanity with kindness, authenticity, and humor to foster a supportive therapeutic connection. I teach skills to cope with daily life and incorporate neuroscience, mindfulness, yoga, CBT/DBT skills, and related media (books, podcasts, etc.) into sessions.
I graduated from Portland State University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and from University of Wisconsin- La Crosse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Spanish. I have experience in a variety of settings- from an eating disorder clinic and crisis clinic to schools and nonprofits. My education and experience have emphasized the necessary integration of trauma-informed care and social justice into mental healthcare.
I invite you to reach out if you feel we may be a good fit. It would be my privilege to connect and discuss how therapy could help. I look forward to meeting you!
